Oliver breathed in sharply; despite the twang of burnt rubber, the air still held life. This new revelation filled his gut with a surprising reservoir of empathy. Remembrance of his brother, lying somewhere in a pool of his own blood froze the life from his veins.

    oooooooo – can’t wait… I like to re-read sentences like that and take it all in… especially the burnt rubber part… something I smelt recently when the neighbours were doing burnouts outside my window…
